On behalf of the United States Government, we wish to extend our deepest condolences for the devastation and loss of life caused by Tropical Storm Trami (also known as Maring) in the Philippines. The United States, through the U.S. Agency for International Development's Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (USAID/OFDA), will provide $300,000 for emergency non-food assistance along with an additional contribution of $500,000 for warehousing and logistics support to improve local rapid response efforts. USAID/OFDA is also working in close coordination with the Government of the Philippines to conduct assessments of the affected areas, to help identify and prioritize needs, and to coordinate response activities.
