On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I extend warm wishes to the people of Chile as you celebrate your Independence Day on September 18.
The United States-Chile partnership is grounded in a shared commitment to democracy, economic prosperity, open markets, sustainable development, and the welfare of our people. Our regional cooperation is particularly strong. We will continue to work together to protect the environment, promote the development of renewable energy, enhance people-to-people connections, and support peace and prosperity in the hemisphere.
