On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I extend warm wishes to the Indonesian people on the 68th anniversary of your independence this August 17.
Indonesia’s strong economic growth and active civil society reflect the dynamism of the Asia-Pacific region. The Comprehensive Partnership between our nations has carried our relationship to new heights. I look forward to continuing this cooperation with the Indonesian government and people based on our shared democratic values and our pursuit of security and prosperity for the region and the world.
I wish all Indonesians a safe and joyous celebration.
