John Kerry

Washington, DC
September 19, 2013
On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I send best wishes to the people of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis as you celebrate the 30th anniversary of your independence this September 19.
The United States and Saint Kitts and Nevis share a long history of friendly and productive relations. We collaborate on renewable energy, climate change, economic development, and regional security initiatives, and our commitment to closer economic and cultural ties will continue to unite us in the future.
I am especially proud of our cooperation on the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas and the Caribbean Youth Empowerment Program. These challenges are interconnected, and we have the opportunity to address them in ways that move our economies forward and deliver tangible benefits to both our peoples.
As you rejoice on this special occasion, the United States wishes the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis peace and prosperity in the year ahead.
