John Kerry
Secretary of State
Washington, DC
November 18, 2013
On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I congratulate the people of Monaco as you celebrate your national holiday, la Fête du Prince, on November 19.
The United States and Monaco share a long and productive history, underscored by the special bond between the people of the United States and Monaco.
We are especially proud to join with you this year in celebrating the 20th anniversary of Monaco’s membership in the United Nations. Since Monaco joined the UN in 1993, it has become a leading voice on education, women and children’s rights, public health, and environmental conservation.
In the spirit of friendship and the timeless ideals that we share, I offer best wishes on the occasion of this important anniversary.
The United States looks forward to continued cooperation and shared success in the future.
