On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I congratulate the people of Tajikistan as you celebrate the 22nd anniversary of your independence this September 9.
The partnership between Tajikistan and the United States has grown steadily in recent years, addressing a wide range of issues important to our shared security and the stability of the broader region. The United States is committed to a long-term relationship that continues to support Tajikistan’s political and economic development.
I wish the people of Tajikistan a joyous Independence Day. The United States looks forward to a future of friendship and continued cooperation.
